Just updating…

It’s been over a year now since I have updated my blog.  There were lots of reasons for this and mostly due to busy-ness and sometimes laziness.  We also moved to our newly rented house and it kept me very busy adjusting to the new environment.  Last year also was Reuel’s most travelled year in his entire career life which meant in return that I was left alone with the kids most of the time.  Conclusively, 2011 was more prosperous and abundant year for us compared to previous years.

I have so much to write if time permits me.  But, I want to start this with our church’s theme this year: GROWING UP IN ALL THINGS IN 2012  which is an excerpt from the book of Ephesians 4:15-16.  With this theme, I and Reuel committed ourselves once again to be diligent in attending the morning and afternoon Sunday services and eventually becoming involve in the ministry.  We’re planning also to start having a ministry one at a time.  And, I’m glad that I find one where I can use my talent and skills to serve the Lord.  I was asked by Pastor Bong if I could join the Creative Media team where I was assigned to help for the Audio-Video Presentation (AVP) in the church.  I got excited because I know I can do it and this is what I wanted to do but I was also nervous that I might not be able to meet the deadlines and fail God again.  But who knows? Maybe this is where I can excel and serve the Lord.  I hope so…

We also started our Sunday commitment last January 15 by attending the whole-day service and by partaking the Me-Mo (families with a surname that starts with this letter) Family presentation.   Each one of us was asked for our favorite verses for us to testify.  Reuel and I did backup singing also during the congregation singing.  Imagine that!  I sang in front of people, can’t believe it (I don’t know how to sing or should I say I’m flat when I sing)… hahaha.  But it’s for the glory of GOD and I have made it!

My verse was in 1 Corinthians 10:13…

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

It was a very tiring day because we need to come back again for the afternoon service but I was also happy and appease.

HAPPY 2012 everyone!

RAISING OUR LEVEL HIGH IN 2011

Reuel is in Malaysia right now for his business trip so I am left alone with the 3 kids at home.  Since today is Sunday and I’m not able to personally attend our church worship service, I rather let myself watch the live streaming (http://www.lighthousebbc.org/) worship service from the main congregation in Tatalon, Quezon City.  The message of Pastor Reuben is entitled, RAISING OUR LEVEL HIGH IN 2011.  With his message, he asked all the members to post the preaching notes to each and everyone’s Facebook account and so I did.  Below are the different levels that should be raised this year.
------
1. Raising the Level of our Spiritual Awareness

According to Pastor Reuben, everything done for God is opportunity. We just need to be aware of the opportunities around us and the danger that comes our way because sometimes we do not know that it has come our way and we just let it passed. We ought to do something for the opportunities to come. And for us to discern the spiritual opportunities, we should set our affections above and not of those in this earth. Pastor RA also mentioned that we need to have the sense for excellent things to raise our spiritual awareness.
--
Let us read some verses in the Bible:
--
Philippians 1:10 (KJV):
“That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;”
--
1 Thessalonians 5:6-8 (KJV):
“Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”
--
Ephesians 5:14-17 (KJV):
“Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”
--
In the last verse, it mentions that the Lord gives us illumination when we are spiritually sensitive (we should be awake first then arise) for us to receive the lights that our Lord Jesus Christ is giving.
--
--
2. Raising the Level of our Spiritual Endurance
--
This means increasing the threshold of our spiritual endurance. Pastor RA cites that some Christians is being on and off in serving the Lord which greatly affects their spiritual growth. We should not be affected or persuaded by those people that have wrong attitudes, by those who are fond of criticizing other people, etc. We all need to be strong for us to be able to endure things that can help us grow. Please read the following verses from the Bible which was written by Apostle Paul to Timothy that speaks of endurance.
--
2 Timothy 3:10-12 (KJV):
“But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
--
1 Timothy 4:6 (KJV):
“If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.”
--
Ephesians 6:10-19 (KJV):
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,”
----
--
3. Raising the Level of our Saving Endeavors
--
Contrary to what most of us know, the Church’ business is not just to save the soul of a man but the saving of a whole man which is the spirit, soul and the body. There are people who clamor to save souls but did not care about fellowshipping with other. Every part of the church’ ministries are in the saving business. We need to save people from stubbornness, from wrong directions, from wrong influence, from wrong minds so let all our church’ ministries be a saving ministry of the whole man. Let us read the Bible:
--
Philippians 2:12 (KJV):
“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”
--
--
4. Raising the Level of our Ministry Quality
--
We at LBBC want to have a fool-proof ministry. Every ministry of the church should care for the work of GOD. Pastor RA said that we cannot demonstrate the love of God without loving the work of God. We should be willing to fulfill our ministry against all odds. Let us read what the Bible said about this:
--
Colossians 4:17 (KJV):
“And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.”
--
2 Corinthians 6:3-12 (KJV):
“Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged. Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.”

Pastor Reuben ends his morning preaching asking the members to raise our levels high this year. God Bless us all!

The events behind the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ

Christmas is now in every corner of the metropolitan. People are excitingly bustled on their shopping galore. Lights are sparkling everywhere. Parties and get-together is all around. And of course, traffic jam is all over the land. Ah! That’s how we celebrate this special occasion.
---
This holiday season is indeed in everyone’s psyche at this moment but before we hook ourselves in a festive mood brought by Christmas, let us pause for a while to reflect on the true essence of this most awaited event of the year. Let us have a little time to know why we celebrate this special occasion – the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ (though based on the description written in the bible, Jesus Christ was not born in December but who really knows the exact date? What’s most important is that we celebrate the birth of our savior. If those non-Bible believers respects Christmas, how much more those who truly believed in Jesus Christ?
---
As we prepare our tables for the Noche Buena, let me give you some insights on the events behind the birth of Jesus Christ. This was preached by preacher Benjie Reyes in one of our Sunday evening worship a year ago and I feel that it’s worth sharing it with you.
------
1. Satan tried to stop the birth of the seed
---
As early as the Old Testament time, the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ was already prophesied. In the book of Genesis, when Adam and Eve fell into sin, God gave the prophecy about the seed. Let us read the verse below:
---
Genesis 3:15 (KJV):
“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
---
In the verse above, God speaks about Jesus Christ as the seed of the woman and the anti-Christ as the seed of the serpent. Because of this prophecy about the seed of the woman against the seed of the serpent, Satan did everything just to keep it from happening.
---
a. Killing of Abel
---
Satan watched warily every man that pleases God. And because Abel pleased God, Satan has put a seed of covetousness on Cain which in effect leads Cain into killing his brother Abel. However, God knows this and he gave Adam and Eve another son, Seth, who is our ascendant. Please read the following verses:
---
 Genesis 4:9 (KJV):
“And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?”
---
Genesis 4:25 (KJV):
“And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.”
---
b. Killing of male children during Moses time
---
The pharaoh, during the time of Moses, has been the instrument of Satan to avert the first prophecy of God about the woman’s seed.
---
Exodus 1:22 (KJV):
“And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.”
---
c. Breaking of David’s Royal chain
---
Jeremiah 22:30 (KJV):
“Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.”
---
The prophecy by Jeremiah above speaks of the breaking of David’s royal chain. Israel was conquered by other nations several times and the kingdom under David’s line ceased to exist as the Bible says, “…for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.” This was the consequence of the sins that David’s descendants have wrought when they ruled wickedly over Israel.
---
However, the devil was shocked when he learned that God was not limited to one line. David had another son named Nathan who had never made it to become a king. His generation was taken care of God to preserve the seed of David.
---
2 Samuel 5:13-14 (KJV):
“And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David. And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,”
---
If we would read the book of Matthew and Luke about the genealogy of Jesus Christ, we could see that they speak of different grandfather of Jesus. It is because during that time, the woman has no rights in the society. The Heli that was mentioned in the book of Luke was the father of Mary which was espoused to Joseph.
---
Luke 3:23-31 (KJV):
“And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi, which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Janna, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Mattathias, which was the son of Amos, which was the son of Naum, which was the son of Esli, which was the son of Nagge, which was the son of Maath, which was the son of Mattathias, which was the son of Semei, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Juda, which was the son of Joanna, which was the son of Rhesa, which was the son of Zorobabel, which was the son of Salathiel, which was the son of Neri, which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Addi, which was the son of Cosam, which was the son of Elmodam, which was the son of Er, which was the son of Jose, which was the son of Eliezer, which was the son of Jorim, which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi, which was the son of Simeon, which was the son of Juda, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Jonan, which was the son of Eliakim, which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David,”
---
d. Killing of children during Herod’s time
---
When the time has come and the birth of the Messiah has taken place, Satan still tried his best…
---
Matthew 2:13-16 (KJV):
“And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son. Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.”
---
---
2. Old Testament Prophecies were fulfilled
---
a. He would be born of a virgin
---
This prophecy was written in the book of Isaiah and Matthew which are 800 years apart.
---
Isaiah 7:14 (KJV):
“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
---
Matthew 1:22-23 (KJV):
“Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
---
b. He would be given the throne of David
---
2 Sam 7:11-12 (KJV):
“And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house. And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.”
---
Psalms 132:11 (KJV):
“The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.”
---
Isaiah 9:6-7 (KJV):
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”
---
Luke 1:31-32 (KJV):
“And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:”
---
---
3. Mary’s Confusion
---
a. She doesn’t have any boyfriend
---
During those early times, when a woman got pregnant without a husband, she will be stoned to death because of the embarrassment she had brought to her family. Just imagine the confusion of Mary when the angel said that she will be having a baby without even knowing a man whom he may call her husband and the father of her baby.
---
Luke 1:34 (KJV):

“Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?”
---
b. The archangel reassured her
---
Luke 1:35 (KJV):
“And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”
---
---
4. Joseph’s Fear
---
a. He was surprised of Mary’s pregnancy
---
Matthew 1:19 (KJV):
“Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.”
---
b. He arranges to make Mary his legal wife
---
Matthew 1:24-25 (KJV):
“Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.”
---
---
If it not had been for Judah’s sin, Joseph could have been the rightful king of Judah when the time Christ was born. It was he and not Herod who had the credentials to sit upon the throne of Israel.
---
The lessons we could learned from these events are:
---
1. Let us not be discouraged if we are undergoing trials because God is in control. In the past events, Satan did his best to prevent the prophecy from happening but our Lord Jesus Christ still has been born. In times of trials, God is just checking our attitudes.
---
Romans 8:28 (KJV):
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
---
---
2. Let us continue to labor for the Lord. Mary continued to nourish Jesus despite the fact that He hadn’t shown any greatness, being the son of God, during the early years of His life. If we would read the life of Jesus Christ in the bible, the first miracle of Jesus was in the wedding at Cana where He turned the water into wine. The same is true in our time today, where doing wrong is acceptable but doing right is strange. We should not let the world affects us. Instead, let us be the shining lights to move the lives of the people around us.
---
1 Peter 4:10-11 (KJV):
“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
---
---
3. Christmas is all about JESUS and not about us!
---
Let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas -- our Lord Jesus Christ! I have notice that Santa Clause has been the center of attraction during Christmas in the children because of gifts giving rather than Jesus Christ who gave the greatest gift of all -- His life!
---
---
Merry CHRISTmas to all!

My life's purpose

I was in my deep slumber last night when out of nowhere I got awake at 4 am with the fearful thought that I might lose Reuel in my life.  I cuddled him tightly and I told him in between my tears how much I love him.  And that I am very thankful that he is in my life.  I put on him a blanket to keep him warm and I checked if he was ok (because it seems that he will be having an asthma attack after we got home from last Sunday’s evening service).  I checked the kids too in their room and I was relieved that they’re sleeping soundly.   Then I returned into bed and with tears, I say a little prayer to the Lord to spare Reuel and my kids from my iniquities and shortcomings as a Christian.
---
As I am praying, the preaching from last Sunday night’s service flashed back.  It maybe because I was greatly moved by what the missionary preacher from Vietnam had said that many Christians do not believe that hell does exists.  According to him, if we really believe in hell’s existence, we might have the compassion to share the gospel with our loved ones instead of lingering on our comfort zone.  As he was saying this, I remember my family and friends that I haven’t shared the gospel with.  I also recalled the video from YouTube.com about the reenacted events of a tormented person in hell blaming his friend, who is a Christian, because the latter did not share the gospel.  Here is the video of that:
----
Yes, my dear friend, Hell does EXIST!  Hell is a place wherein, every soul is experiencing intense pain especially mental pain because the memory which they rejected the gospel retains.  The place called “HELL” was described by Jesus Christ in the book of Mark, which is:
----
Mark 9:47-48 KJV:
"And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."
---
It was also described by Jesus Christ through the story of the rich man and Lazarus. Let us read the whole story which is in the book of Luke.
---
Luke 16:19-31 KJV:
“There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”
---
This is the reason Jesus Christ died for us, to redeem us from the eternal damnation in hell.  When the first people, Adam and Eve, commits the first sin which is disobedience, every man comes short of the glory of God.  This is written in the Bible.
---
Romans 3:23 KJV:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
---
So God the father sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and the only way to His kingdom in heaven.  And whoever faithfully believes in Him shall not perish.
---
John 14:6 KJV:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
-
John 3:16 KJV:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
---
Contrary to what the world teaches us that good works can save us.  The Bible has something written about this.
----
Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV:
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
---
I hope that through this writing, I have imparted the good news which is the gospel of Jesus Christ.---
Good morning everyone! J

Instant noodles

As I’m organizing the labels of my blogs here, I noticed that I haven’t written a single entry about foods from different regions/country that we have tried and becomes our favorite. So, I’m posting this entry, in which at first, I really don’t have the intention to do so.
--
Instant noodles are usual stuffs in our grocery list. It is very convenient to have that in the pantry most especially during the times when either I’m too lazy to cook a soup which complements fried dishes we have, or we do not have something to pair up with rice. Or even when the weather is cold and we want something that would keep us warm without the hassle of cooking a real soup (which of course, tastes better and healthier to consider). Instant noodles are very cheap commodities too that everybody else could afford. So, we love instant noodles!
----
The first time we experienced the Taiwan instant noodles is when Reuel had a business trip to Taipei. He immediately fell in love with it because of the generous amount of meat chunks that came with it. So, he brought some when he got home. And since it comes with the chunks of real meat (plus a mixed flavor in it), it is advisable to store it in the refrigerator.
---------------------------------

Those noodles shown above were not brought in by Reuel as he hasn’t been to Taiwan for more than a year now. Those lovely and yummy noodles are from Ken, Reuel’s Taiwan-based boss. Yes, he was here in the Philippines. He brought the noodles as “pasalubong” to his team as he always used to do. Thank you Ken!
---
Please take note that the smaller pack does not have meat chunks. It’s just an ordinary noodle we usually find here but they’re tastier compared to our local ones.
---
So, if you happened to be in Taiwan and you love instant noodles, this is a must-try for your food trip to put noodles into a higher level.
---
Bon appetit!

Who says life is easy?!

Every day is full of challenges. And every people have their own difficulties to deal with. In short, no one is exempted from that life’s quest. Some may have financial issue and some may have relationship issue. The financial issue is very common and it’s the easiest problem one can have. The relationship issues are those issues by which your mutual relations or your emotional association with other people is at stake or could be lacking. Relationship issue for me is the most difficult problem because you cannot easily resolve it and it involves emotional distress.
---
I remember, Reuel and I had a small talk and he asked me if I have to choose what could be our next problem if money would not be a problem for us after all. He enumerated the possible problems that we are about to face in the future which includes our relationship as husband and wife, our relationship towards our children which is a common problem among parents most especially when our children reach the teenage years or another wave of financial problems. Then I answered, that I would rather choose to have money problem.
---
So, who says life is easy? Our challenges may not be the same with other people but there is one common among all of us and that is each and every one of us will experience hardships in life no matter what. King Solomon, who was the wisest man who ever lived on earth, writes in the book of Ecclesiastes that:
---
Ecclesiastes 1:8 KJV:
---
“All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.”
---
Ecclesiastes 1:14 KJV:
---
“I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.”
---
Therefore, all things we do here is useless if we do not do the sole duty of our existence in this earth which is:
---
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 KJV:
---
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
---
Thus, I and Reuel never have a single fight over money matters since we got married because we know that it doesn’t bring any good to our relationship. It is just vanity (useless) to fight over material things. We look at money as a consumable thing that might bring some sort of satisfaction to ourselves but it is a worthless cause of contention. And yes, we’re one of the millions of people who have financial difficulties and we sometimes feel sad because we cannot buy what we want, do what we want, nor go wherever we want to. But I think it’s a matter of setting your mind to look into another angle of your life in which you are blessed. In that, you become contented for whatever you have. In our part, we truly love each other and we’re building a wonderful family. To think of that, makes us grateful unto the Lord.
---
One time, my parents commented that we look so happy and contented in the midst of our financial crisis. According to them, it seems that we’ve been somewhat brain-washed by our Pastor (they’re opposing to our tithes giving and offering) that money is not important. If we would only read the Word of God, it says giving is the way to God’s blessings. And only in giving that God asks us to prove Him. It is in the book of Malachi 3:10, which says:
---
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
---
And in the book of Luke 6:38, which says:
---
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
---
I still remember, what my mom have said, that money is what makes one happy. You can do all the things you want when you have money. I just smile at them and pray that they would understand and experience the happiness and contentment that we have and, that they would have the same eternal security that we have through our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us look what was written in the book of Matthew 6: 19-21:
---
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

When you have learned not to worry over the things that you don’t have, you will start enjoying your life. We do not have to worry for what we need because God knows all our needs. It is written in the book of Matthew 6:25-26, that says:
---
“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?”
---
It is true that worrying about the future does not help us. We only need to trust God for everything. And trusting God is difficult to exercise but once we’re into it, we’ll have a better disposition in life because we know that everything happens to us has a purpose and it is according to God’s plan.

What I've been through

I am blessed with a good and loving husband. And he’s a good provider too… We started our marriage life with a good start. We have bought almost everything that we need to start a family. Then there comes the time that we have our first born. Oh yes, we still have that good start. We are able to give all the needs of our first baby. Then our second baby came. At first, it’s so hard for us because it brought us financial challenges and on my part emotional difficulties. But we never fight over financial issues. I and Reuel value our relationship more than anything. We always thought that all people have money problem even for rich people. So, it’s common to all. However, GOD is so good because that phase in our married life had easily come to pass because Reuel got an increase in his salary twice on that year, which is very rare to happen.
----
So, financial challenges were settled but not the emotional part within me. I cannot say that I’m not happy with my life. I have a very supportive husband and two wonderful sons then. And almost every weekend, Reuel stroll us to the mall and we dine to our restaurant of choice. I’m always happy during the weekend but whenever Monday comes, there’s something in me that I cannot put into words or I don’t even know what exactly it is. But I’m always crying most of the day most especially in the morning when Reuel has gone to office to work and the children are still sleeping. I feel like I’m exhausted with my life and I’m praying to God to just take my life to end the heaviness that I always feel whenever I’m left alone. I love my two sons and I always spend time playing with them. I feel that emotional sickness when I’m alone or in the midst of doing my daily house chores routine.  But Reuel is always there for me love me more, to understand me and to give his moral support to what I've been going through.  He prays for me everyday that God would help me.
----
Then, we commit ourselves to God’s work. I started to enjoy fellowshipping with our church mates especially to mommies like me. And I realized then that I’m so blessed with my life because I found that some may have more difficult challenges than what I have. That was the start when I really enjoy my life. And I start putting all my worries and trust unto the Lord. My very first life verse that I’ve found in the Bible is in the book of John 14:1 which says:
----
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
---
Everything was ok, and we’re active doing Christ’s great work until I gave birth to our third child. My faith got shaken and becomes weak. I didn’t have time to pray and do my personal devotion. Then I met (in the net) again my former colleague, Diana. I read her blog and relate easily to what she’s been through. Then we instantly have that kind of connection that only mommies at home have. She’s the reason I start blogging again and she brings back the confidence in myself.
