My Sofia

It’s almost been 2 years since I last blogged.  And now that the feeling of blogging again gets into my heart and soul so here I am writing my first entry for this year.  J Before anything else, I want to share to all of you that I gave birth to our third child last year.  And we spot on the jackpot this time as our baby is a bouncing baby girl.  Of course, thank GOD for answering our prayer (We ask earnestly if it is possible for me not to conceive again or if His will is to bless us another child then so be it but we prayed for a baby girl).  Thank you so much Lord for this blessing!

We named her Sofia Danielle which is the first name that we have thought of when I get preggy the first time.  I love the name Sofia because for me it sounds elegant or sophisticated.  I dream of giving this name to my future daughter when I was still in high school and I thought it would not happen because my first two children are boys.  The name Danielle came from Reuel, just like me though he actually wants “Daniel” to be the name of his son.  You would ask why we didn’t give the name “Daniel” to our sons.  Well, it was because we have somehow anticipated that our firstborn could be a girl and we really reserved the name “Sofia Danielle” for our first baby girl.  So that’s the story behind that name…
Anyway, I googled for the root meaning of “Sofia” and it means “Wisdom”; and “Danielle” also which means “God is my judge.”  Hmmm…perfect combination, isn’t it?  Would you care to know the meaning of our names also?  My hubby Reuel (pronounce as “ROO el”) means “Friend of God”; Michelle which means “Who is like God”;  our firstborn, Juan Rafael which means “God is gracious” and “God has healed” respectively; our second son, Josef Gabriel which means “He will enlarge” and “God is my might”.  Now, I started to think that names of people have something to do with his fate, eh?  J
Moving on, I have lots of “first-time” experience with Sofia.  She is our first and only daughter and this is the first time that I do breastfeeding because economically speaking, we can save a lot of money from buying formula milk.  Secondly, we’ve been through hardship with our first two children as they’re very sickly.  Almost every month they suffer from asthma and almost every year they have to be confined in the hospital.  So we really thought that if I would do breastfeeding with Sofia, we’ll be freed from that difficult situation.  And based on my experience, breastfed babies have good immune system.  Sofia is 10 month-old now and she’s never been admitted to hospital.  If I could only bring back time, I will do breastfeeding with Yuan and Gabee when they were still babies to save us from anxieties and money.
Till next time!  Good morning everyone…
