Let them be little...

Everyday could be special for both moms and kids which spend the rest of the day together at home. Today, we turn the ordinary bathing that we usually do into something more enjoyable, swimming into the bathtub (the tub that I bought for Yuan when he was still a baby). I let them play in the water and enjoy the water droplets coming from the shower. They were so happy when I let them do what they want to do for thirty minutes in the water.

Yuan even requested that we do that more often because according to him it’s really fun. They didn’t even whine when I took them out in the water which they usually do after bathing. And I thought it’s a good way to start the day with such an exciting activity.

The song that played in my mind the moment I saw them enjoying the water is “Let them be little” by Billy Dean. Oh, it’s one of my favorite songs which really inspire me to enjoy the moment with them on their childhood days because they’re only that way for a while. I also sing this song to them and they love it especially when they see the baby on the video. Here’s the video of the song which you can play: (updated on 9/24/2010)

The lyric of the song are as follows:

LET THEM BE LITTLE

I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand
You felt so good in it; no bigger than a minute
How it amazes me you’re changin’ with every blink
Faster than a flower blooms, they grow up all too soon

So let them be little,
‘Cause they’re only that way for a while
Give ‘em hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day
Let ‘em cry, let ‘em giggle,
Let ‘em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little

I never felt so much in one little tender touch.
I live for those kisses, your prayers and your wishes
And now you’re teachin’ me how only a child can see
Tonight, while we’re on our knees, All I ask is:

Please, let them be little,
‘Cause they’re only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day
Let ‘em cry, let ‘em giggle,
Let ‘em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little

The so innocent, precious soul:
You turn around, and it’s time to let them go

So let them be little,
‘Cause they’re only that way for a while
Give them hope, give ‘em praise,
Give them love every day
Let ‘em cry, let ‘em giggle,
Let them sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little
Let them be little

Fun photos! Kids really look forward to bath time. My son has a number of bath toys in our bathroom.

I like the name Yuan. In fact was one of the names we considered for our son but ended up with Yohan (a version of Johann).

Thanks for visiting my blog. It's always nice to meet new and interesting people. I'll come back here to read more.
