Braised chicken in corn syrup

Today, I prepared this wonderful dish for my hubby’s baon (lunch pack) and the other portion went to our breakfast. This was created out of imagination and it turned out good.

My first plan originally was fried chicken fillet with buttered carrot and corn as a side dish. But creativity struck me --- how about pouring the corn syrup on the chicken fillet? So what I did actually is braise the chicken in the corn syrup. And the verdict of my kids --- they love it that they were able to eat their breakfast and even lunch with this dish (usually, they don’t want to eat similar dish on the next meal). Below is the recipe just in case somebody wants to try:

Ingredients:
250 grams of chicken breast fillet
3/4 cup of corn syrup
salt and freshly ground pepper
2 tbsp of Olive oil

Procedures:1. Season the chicken fillet with salt and freshly ground pepper. Let stand for 10 minutes.
2. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick pan then fry the chicken fillet until golden. Do this also on the other side.
3. Pour in the corn syrup and let simmer in a low heat until most of the syrup have evaporated.
4. Turn off the heat and serve immediately.

Enjoy eating!
